Certified Emergency Training
Sarah serves as our Community Relations Officer and currently serves as a CET Event Medical Nurse. Sarah Received her Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University. After working towards becoming a police officer she decided instead to follow her heart and work in medicine. Sarah has a BSN from Chamberlain School of Nursing. She hopes to work in the Emergency Room, as well as pursuing the necessary certifications to become a Heartsaver, BLS, and ACLS Instructor. She is currently employed at a local hospital as a respiratory Nurse.
Heather is a First Responder with CET. She is in charge of the Health and Wellness programs we coordinate with!
Sal currently holds an EMT-B license. He currently works with CET as an event medic.
Brian is a Nationally Licensed EMT-B, and is attending Paramedic School. He currently is employed as an EMT-B on a BLS Ambulance for a private ambulance company. He has also had extensive First Responder training by Jim Hughes, Owner of CET, personally. Brian helps us at our First Aid Events and ensures all of our patients receive the best treatment possible.
Tommy is a licensed Paramedic and has been with the Chicago Fire Department for over 30 years. Tommy is Lead Instructor Certified and is an ACLS Instructor, BLS Instructor, and Heartsaver Instructor.
Phil has an extensive background in Law Enforcement. He has worked as a Corrections Officer in a Maximum Security Prison as well as with multiple private security firms. He is also trained in Emergency Management as well as considerable training as a First Responder. Phil provides Security aspects as needed by Certified Emergency Training.
Colin is CET's safety Officer. He also holds an EMT-B license and has a background in Emergency Management. He currently holds a safety officer position within a manufacturing warehouse. He has past experience working as a Construction Safety Officer and has past experience as a Rehabilitation Technician. Colin holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Emergency Management, as well as a Bachelors of Arts.
Lauren is a licensed Paramedic, Peer 1 Certified Educator, and EMT/Paramedic Skills Proctor at Northwest Community Hospital. She has experience as an ER Technician in a busy Chicago Emergency Room, a level I trauma hospital, as well as experience as a Paramedic Student with Gurnee Fire Department and Paramedic experience with Chicago Fire Department. Lauren is Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS), ECG & Pharamcology, Advanced Airway Management Certified, and PEER 1 & 2 Educator Certified. She also served with the Illinois Army National Guard for a total of 7 years. 3 of which as a Medical Services Support Officer. Prior to commissioning as an Officer, Lauren received comprehensive Army Combat Medic Training and was an SMP Soldier while participating in the US Army Chicago Fire BTN Reserve Officer Training Corps. She holds multiple military certifications to include but not limited to CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High Yield Explosives), Aeromedical Evacuation, Medical Administration, Medical Logistics, Unit/Convoy Movement Officer, Mass Causality Management, and many others. Lauren holds a Bachelors in Science from Loyola University Chicago, in Psychology with a concentration in Child Development, Neuro-Psychology, and Pediatric Abnormal Psychopathology. She is currently pursuing Critical Care and Flight Medic Certifications. Lauren is an AHA Heartsaver, BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor and serves as CET Class Coordinator, Webmaster, Executive officer, Head of Logistics, and Photographer.
Jim is not only the owner of Certified Emergency Training but is also the head instructor here at CET. He is also currently lead Instructor Certified and the Head Paramedic Skills Coordinator for Northwest Community Hospital. He has a strong background in Emergency Medical Services as well as in peer instruction. Jim holds multiple certifications and licensures to include but not limited to Paramedic, Lead Instructor, PEER 1 & 2 Educator, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Electrocardiogram and Pharmacology, Certified Nursing Assistant, Advanced Airway Management, and Community Emergency Response Team Train the Trainer Instructor. Jim has worked in multiple hospital and field environments to include being an ER Technician in a busy Chicago Hospital, Mundelein Fire Department, Norridge Park Fire Department, and as a Chicago Fire Department Paramedic. He has been employed by Northwest Community Hospital as an EMS instructor since 2011, and is currently completing an Associates of Science in Emergency Medical Services. Jim is an NREMT skills proctor for Paramedics seeking NREMT endorsement. He is now pursuing Critical Care and Flight Medic Certifications. Jim is a certified American Heart Association Heartsaver, BLS, ACLS and, PALS instructor.

Here at Certified Emergency Training we will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to save lives and assist in an emergency. All of our instructors and employees are licensed healthcare providers with significant experience and exposure to all aspects of pre-hospital emergency care. We provide hands on training, comprehensive instruction, and real life scenarios to help you not only recognize the early signs of life threatening medical conditions but also how to treat and sustain life until EMS arrives. Medical emergencies occur more often then you think. The Instructors at Certified Emergency Training can provide you with the knowledge, skills, training, and CONFIDENCE that can and often will make the difference between life and death.

Chris is CET's Communication and Assistant Logistical Management Officer. He served 6 years active duty Military service as an Aeronautical Communications Engineer and Maintenance Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) for the United States Airforce. While serving he has received multiple awards as both a student and an Airman. He has been a certified USAF CPR/AED Instructor as well as holding multiple college degrees. Chris holds a Masters of Science in Business Management, a Bachelors of Science also in Business Management, and an Associates of Applied Science in Aeronautical Engineering, and is FAA licensed. Chris is our Head of Communications and assists Lauren in Logistical Management Operations.
Teri serves CET as our National Nursing Consultant. She helps keep CET on top of the latest Medical Trends, Products and Education, as well as improving lines of communication between on-site operations and Emergency Room Nursing Staff. Teri Received her Bachelors of Science in Biology and a Bachlors of Nursing from University of Arkansas at Monticello. She is an Arkansas Army National Guard Officer in the Medical Service Corps. She is also a Registered Nursing working in the ICU.
Event Medical Volunteers
Elizabeth currently holds an EMT-B license. She currently works with CET as an event medic. Beth is currently in training as a BLS Instructor as well as working toward pursuing paramedic.
